Super Freakonomics

Steven D. Levitt & Stephen J. Dubner

15 abr 2023

In this book the author uses microeconomics to understand diverse and interesting topics. They give a different perspective on global warming and politics, they explain our relationship with money and incentives through examples of prostitutes and monkeys.

  • It's all about incentives. Costs and gains.

  • Monkeys respond the same to a monetary system as humans. Which beg the question, to what extent are we actually rational?

  • Even complex topics such as global warming can have simple and cheap solutions. It's all about understanding the underlying mechanisms that give us the actual result.

In general I would recommend the entire series of these authors. They give interesting real world examples to complex topics, leaving you intrigued, informed and more importantly curious to know more about underlying invisible incentive driven situations.
