The Japanese Phenomenon That Shows You How to Change Your Life and Achieve Real Happiness. The author explores and modernizes Adlerian's psychology through dialogues. He deals with happiness, life, the separation of tasks and trauma. In general I love how empowering and strong Adler's ideas can be.

  • He rejects Freud's deterministic view on trauma. He argues that behavior has to have a present goal, not a past incentive.

  • Every problem is an interpersonal problem.

  • Separation of tasks: learn what's yours, and what's not if the consequences are yours, then it is your task to handle).

  • There is a use in feeling inferior as long as it doesn't become an inferiority complex.

  • Happiness comes from feeling valuable. Humans have intrinsic value. Therefore anyone can be happy through the feeling of community.

  • Freedom comes from understanding that life is an individual game played as a collective. You have to understand that not being liked is part of living free and fully.
